Course Overview
The Breakaway Skills course is aimed at public and private sector employees who are at risk from physical attack by customers or service users. Delegates will learn how to escape from an assailant without endangering themselves or their work colleagues. The course also covers their rights and responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act.
Course Aims
Through the Breakaway Skills course, we aim to teach:
• Simple and effective ways to escape from different types of physical attack
• How to ensure the delegates’ safety and that of their colleagues is not compromised
• How to break various holds and block attempted strikes without causing undue pain to the aggressor
• The importance of acting ethically and within the law.
