Hampshire County Libraries
Brooks Jordan was delighted when we were approached by Hampshire County Council’s Library Services department to put together a proposal for them. The brief we responded to asked us to help frontline staff to deal with challenging conversations and to manage conflict with service users. This is what Brooks Jordan do best so it gave our enthusiastic team of trainers a great opportunity to indulge in creative ways to meet the brief. Read More
Silverdale School – Personal Safety Training for 15-16 Year-Olds
Silverdale School in Sheffield is a beacon languages academy with an enviable reputation for delivering excellent education to state sector pupils.

St Bede’s School
Brooks Jordan’s team of trainers have worked for many years with Silverdale School in Sheffield which is a beacon languages academy, but other than Silverdale had very little input in to schools until 2010 when we had a sudden surge in demand for personal safety training from schools in the independent sector. Care Company
CC are a small care company based in Lincolnshire who support service users to live in their own homes. Many of CC’s clients have learning difficulties or suffer from mental ill health. When she rang us, their manager Sarah said that her team of skilled staff rarely had problems with service users. However recently they had taken on a new client who had already assaulted six staff. Sarah explained that Rachel (the service user) could be unpredictable and lash out without any warning. Sarah was getting increasingly concerned as a couple of staff had started looking for other jobs – Rachel’s behaviour was becoming that bad.
When Sarah rang us she said she was looking for breakaway skills training to help her staff deal with physical assaults from Rachel. Although we agreed to deliver a breakaway skills programme we also suggested that it might be useful to spend some time talking with her team and that we would carry out a root cause analysis to see if we could work out what triggered Rachel’s outbursts.
